Inauguration

Today's Inauguration is obviously a very historic one. I wish I was there in Washington, D.C. with the millions of spectators to witness history. On this day, the first African American president will be sworn in with the same bible that Abraham Lincoln used on his inauguration today. Today is a day to remember in American History. This will be a time to remember that I will tell my children about when I grow old. 

Bad Secret

The effect on me when I had to keep a bad secret was not fun. I was nervous because I didn't want to tell my friend that his girl friend cheated on him. She told me not to tell anybody but I knew I had to tell my friend. In the end I told him, which was breaking the promise, but my best friend comes before his girlfriend. 

Scarlet Letter

As of chapter 13, I am enjoying the book. The book recently has became very interesting and keeps getting more and more in depth. The novel keeps my interest and appeals to me because of the conflicts and problems. I am enjoying this novel and enjoy discussing it in groups. 

New Year's Resolution

My New Year's resolution is to create better study habits and set up a schedule for upcoming days of the week. I am going to do this in a disciplined way and continue to do this throughout the school year. My schedule will consist of events that include: homework, sports, tests, projects etc. My study habits will be focused more on meeting with my tutor frequently and studying several days for a test. 

Winter

    I had for my winter evening walk–

    No one at all with whom to talk,

    But I had the cottages in a row

    Up to their shining eyes in snow.

    And I thought I had the folk within:

    I had the sound of a violin;

    I had a glimpse through curtain laces

    Of youthful forms and youthful faces.

    I had such company outward bound.

    I went till there were no cottages found.

    I turned and repented, but coming back

    I saw no window but that was black.

    Over the snow my creaking feet

    Disturbed the slumbering village street

- A good author does not always get right to the point and explain what they are trying to say. A good author could hide the meanings and say them in subtle ways. The little things that author's do in their writings it what stands out the most. The details and underlined message is the style they are portraying their writings. 

Short Story

What is your favorite short story?

- I do not have a particular short story that has stuck to my mind. In general I am a big Edgar Allen Poe fan. I like to read most of his short stories because they keep me glued to the pages. Edgar Allen Poe is a unique writer that I enjoy to read during my free time. I suggest his short stories and novels to anybody who wants to have a good read!
